Setting up the Top Echelon Integration

This article describes how to set up your Top Echelon integration and use the sync features.

In order to set up your Top Echelon integration on SourceWhale simply follow these steps.


Step 1

Navigate to your initials/image in the bottom left-hand corner > Select Integrations from the dropdown menu > Search for Top Echelon in the search bar.

Step 2

Once on the integrations page simply select Top Echelon and click Activate.

Once the integration is active, you will see a green connected box by the Top Echelon icon.


Sync Features

On the integrations page, you will be able to set default settings for yourself and your team.

General Settings

Please Note: Top Echelon requires a first name and last name - we cannot push contacts into Top Echelon with only one name.

  1. Do not merge with existing contacts in Top Echelon: Turning this toggle on will create duplicates in Top Echelon.

  2. Don't overwrite existing CVs in Top Echelon: If contact has an existing CV in Top Echelon, we will not upload a new CV.

  3. Update existing contacts' full work/education history, if known: Turning this toggle on will update contacts in Top Echelon with all available work and education history if synced again

  4. Create notes upon: Choose for which outreach types a note is pushed in Top Echelon.

Sync Settings

  1. Only add notes to synced records: Toggling this on will mean that if you have "sync upon interested" or "sync upon replied" for the next option, we will only add notes to existing records in Top Echelon once a Person has been marked as "interested" or "replied".

  2. When adding to a campaign: Choose to sync when adding Person or when they respond or when they respond positively and are interested. Click the lock icon to lock the sync settings for all non-admin users within the platform.

  3. Displayed fields: Choose which Top Echelon fields users can optionally tag to a Person to push into Top Echelon.

  4. Mandatory fields: Choose which Top Echelon fields must be filled to push a Person into Top Echelon.

  5. Protected fields: Selected fields will not be overwritten in Top Echelon when syncing data.

  6. Filterable fields: Selected fields will be displayed within the SourceWhale search page as a filter, allowing your team to search your CRM using these fields directly from within SourceWhale.

Field Mapping

Here you can customise and map all Top Echelon fields to the corresponding SourceWhale variable.

Note: Please do not adjust unless you are finding that the variables are not mapping as expected in Top Echelon.

  1. String Variables: These SourceWhale variables can only be mapped to one field in Top Echelon.

  2. List Variables: These SourceWhale variables can be mapped to multiple fields in Top Echelon.

  3. Social URLs: Link specific social URLs such as LinkedIn, Twitter etc to the correct field in Top Echelon.

You are now ready to start using your Top Echelon integrations.
